Concepts
Each part of OpenFief as built, and the ideas behind it.
Each page explains one area: the concepts a newcomer needs, how the code works today with diagrams, which decisions it implements, how to verify it, and what is decided but not built yet. The box at the top of each page names the code it covers; that code cannot change without the page changing too.
- Egress
How the egress proxy lets each plugin reach only the hostnames its grant allows, and never a private address.
- Identity
Script tokens, the scoped, expiring, read-only personal tokens the owner's scripts present to the read API, and how they are issued, checked and revoked.
- Ingest
How statements from institutions enter the ledger, through in-core mappers or connector plugins the core calls, and what the IBKR Flex connector does today.
- Kernel
The shared value types for exact decimals, currencies, money, quantities and calendar dates that every bounded context uses.
- Ledger
How OpenFief records each account's transactions in an append-only, versioned double-entry log and derives holdings, FIFO lots and balance checks from it.
- Operator
How the Kubernetes operator turns Plugin and PluginGrant resources into isolated plugin workloads, and how much of that is built.
- Plugins
How OpenFief describes, approves and runs a plugin, and how much of that the code implements today.
- Portfolio
Sleeves and sleeve kinds, the defensive and offensive parts of the portfolio that every account belongs to, and the planned model portfolio comparison.
- Read API
How OpenFief serves its record to the built-in UI, view plugins and scripts as one read-only protobuf service, called over Connect or as REST under /v1, and how it totals valuations and builds the allocation.
- Treasury bonds
How OpenFief values Polish retail treasury bond lots from their series terms, index readings, early-redemption fee, Belka tax and tax wrapper.
- Valuation
How OpenFief values every holding on every day, stores those valuations, and rebuilds them through a revaluation queue whenever a price, FX rate, index reading or the ledger changes.
